Washburn a brand that rocks to the ears to a lot of guitarist for more than a century around the globe. The company is notorious on producing a lot great sounding guitars with its reasonable price. Recently I just got this axe for quite a bargain price, looks? good as new and it is definitely a steal for the price that I paid. I created this post for the reason that I didn't find quite a thorough review on this guitar. OK Let's start dissecting this beast, This is a Washburn WG248 guitar from China. Yes! its from china but not your typical Chinese made stuff, this beast resembles a lot from its big U.S made bothers from its looks, feel and tone. The guitar is loaded with a Humbucker/single/Humbucker pick ups and that alone can give you an idea of versatility on its tone. It has a 24 medium shark tooth inlays, a fast neck that's made of rosewood fretboard, a license locking tremolo and a tone and volume control. Well that specs is meant for fast a heavy musical style and yet alone it has a push/pull feature on its volume knob for a sole purpose on producing a pristine clean tone Ala strat kind of territory. This guitar is created with versatility in mind and it is already a discontinued model so that makes the guitar somewhat a collectors item in a sense. Tone wise I play a lot of cross over musical genre and this guitar can do its justice may it be for the clean tone or to slight over driven tone or to a punishing metal tone and this axe delivers it on ace. I'm pretty contented with this guitar as of now, I do have a plan on the near future to replace its bridge pick up with the dimarzio super distortion for more ballsy kind of sound and for its neck pickups I have no plans on replacing them. The tone alone in the neck position is enough for its price, it is so warm in a way that you'd fell that your playing on a tube amp even though your playing on a solid state amp. That alone impresses me! this guitar can compete to a lot more expensive guitar in the market today. Playability wise this guitar is fast and versatile with a sexy looking coating. Tone wise? this can deliver a crystal clear clean with its single coil feature and a bone crushing metal tone. To wrap things up this guitar is sure a working mans axe. Yes! it can deliver a decent tone and it's up to your fingers to make its sound divine.
